My Approach
My therapeutic approach is humanistic/existential, with an emphasis on attachment theory. Simply put, this approach allows us to focus on the strength and resilience you have been carrying within you all this time, while also exploring the experiences, whether in relationships with others or community, that have contributed to how things became the way they are. Through a lens of decolonizing, my goal is to help my clients develop a sense of awareness of maladaptive ways of being, while also exploring different ways we can be in the future.
I am trained in different therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). With the understanding that every client is different, I strive to understand my clients’ experiences to know which modality works best for them.
